How to Use a Self-Worth Worksheet
Below are a set of questions that you can use to explore and strengthen your self-esteem. We recommend you answer the questions or complete the activities in writing, reflecting on your experiences and personal growth.
This worksheet is just a starting point. If one particular question gets your wheels turning, encourage yourself to dig deeper to learn more about what drives your inner sense of self-worth.
Use a notebook or journal to record your thoughts, and perhaps, revisit your answers over time and update your entries with new thoughts or progress.

Self-Worth Worksheet: Explore and Strengthen Your Self-Esteem
Self-Reflection
- Describe a situation or accomplishment in which you felt proud and recognized your worth.
- Reflect on a time when you faced a challenge or setback. How did you cope with it? What did you learn about yourself in the process?
Identify Personal Strengths
- List at least five of your personal strengths or positive qualities.
- Describe how these strengths have contributed to your achievements or positive experiences.
Recognize Achievements
- Write down three achievements, big or small, that you are proud of. These can be related to any aspect of your life (personal, academic, professional, etc.).
- Reflect on the effort, skills, or qualities that helped you accomplish these achievements.
Challenge Negative Self-Talk
- Identify any negative thoughts or self-doubts that often come up for you.
- List evidence that supports or contradicts these negative thoughts.
- Challenge these negative thoughts by replacing them with more realistic and positive statements.
Self-Care Plan
- Write down at least three self-care activities that you enjoy and that make you feel good about yourself.
- Identify specific ways you can incorporate these activities into your routine to prioritize self-care and nurture your self-worth.
Building a Supportive Network
- Reflect on the people in your life who uplift and support you.
- Identify at least three people who truly believe in you and encourage your self-worth. Consider ways to nurture these relationships and seek support when needed.
Setting Personal Boundaries
- Reflect on your current boundaries in relationships (personal or professional).
- Identify any areas where your boundaries may need strengthening or adjustment.
- Write down specific steps you can take to establish and maintain healthy boundaries in those areas.
Affirmations and Mantras
- Create two to three positive affirmations or mantras that resonate with you and help boost your self-worth.
- Write these affirmations somewhere visible as a reminder to practice self-compassion and reinforce positive self-beliefs.
Your Journey is Just Beginning
Practicing self-worth is an ongoing process. You can revisit and revise this worksheet periodically to track your progress and continue strengthening your self-esteem.
Self-discovery can be therapeutic, but also useful and enjoyable. Consider indulging in a special journal or some colorful writing tools to help make your journey happy and bright.
