Morning Motivation: How to Know We Are Invincible

illuminated qoute board

It’s been a while since we’ve had a straight up, “Don’t forget you are amazing!” post, strictly intended to motivate. I think of posts like that as morning motivation because I sometimes need one of these to start the day off right. So, strap yourself in, because here it comes!

Morning Motivation

Your Resting Mind-Set

Are you lacking inspiration? Feeling low, unable to see the light, drowning in self-doubt? Do you feel rooted and overcome, the weight of countless obligations on your shoulders? When you pass a mirror – do you pause and sigh? Are you unhappy with what you see?

Despite your many blessings, does life feel empty and meaningless?

If you answered yes to any of the above – YOU NEED THIS POST! Keep reading!

Morning Motivation: Call to Action

We are each a complex and eclectic mix of talents, gifts, and qualities.  Choose one that you have used to the benefit of yourself and others.  Honor that gift! Say it out loud: “I’m strong”.  “I am kind.” “I’m thoughtful.” “I am smart.” “I bring out the best in people.”

Become an inspiration to yourself.

Whatever your gift is, savor it. Relish it.  Be grateful for it.  Be proud of it.  OWN IT.  It’s yours. One small part of the amazing and incredible thing that is you.

There is no other you – and you get to be that you! How lucky is that? Next time you have even the slightest inkling of self-doubt, remind yourself of this moment.

You are thinking of JUST ONE of the many gifts and talents you have – the wonder of your whole package is almost too much to comprehend.

Self-doubt be gone. Welcome home, inspiration.

Morning Motivation: Feelings to Shed

Your obligations are there to remind you that you have a choice. You choose when to dust them off to tend to more important things. Any thought that starts with “I should….” must be dusted off, too.

You can file them away in an orderly fashion or leave them in a sloppy mess. This, too, is a choice.

But what is not a choice – is that you must set these things aside.

That beautiful, amazing creature who lives within you needs your attention. Obligations be damned.

Think of yourself as your best friend.  What is at top of her list today? Does she need a walk? A quiet cup of coffee? An unplanned getaway? Give it to her! Obligations will be there later, and everything that must get done, will get done.

Morning Motivation: Come to Terms with the Mirror

No one has the same combination of skin, hair, and features. Your uniqueness is beautiful. Smile. Watch the light come into your eyes.  Do you have scars? What do they represent? What have you overcome? Think about your body. What incredible things has it accomplished? Have you had adventures or physical accomplishments? Have you had children?

Your body allows you to take care of others, do household chores and carry groceries. Thank it.

What about that incredible brain? It processes thousands of stimuli and manages to have a conversation or take in a beautiful view. These bodies we live in are miracles.  If they have a flaw or two, it makes them more perfect. Remind yourself that your physical being is a miracle.

Go Get ‘Em, Tiger!

Put together a picture of your gifts and talents; see your obligations laying on the floor.

Take in your body, your face, and your brain and all its beauty and capabilities – and ask yourself – how can life by empty or meaningless?

I’ve been given this incredible machine to carry out actions with barely a thought; I’ve been given a mind that can reason itself out of challenges, and does so, dozens of times a day.

I’m able to make split second decisions, juggle multiple thoughts and stimuli, store decades of powerful memories, and envision a beautiful, bright, future filled with unimaginable blessings.

I’ve been given all these gifts. How can today not be the best day yet?

It’s morning – show the day who’s boss.

Thank you as always for reading.

  1. This is such a wonderfully uplifting post, Joan! It’s soo needed sometimes to have a huge motivational boost like this, it’s too easy to get caught up in life and all of it’s facets. For me, I remind myself I am the only me and that is what makes me special. No one can be me and therefore I should be the best me I can. Obviously some days I struggle but at my core I always know this. Loved this post, great work again! <3 xx

Such an amazing post, Joan! You always have the ability to make me feel uplifted and positive every time I stop by your blog! I love the idea of thinking of yourself as your best friend and asking what they need. We seem to be much kinder to others than we do ourselves. I love the line: “everything that must get done, will get done” that is such a perfect reminder to be easy on ourselves for the week ahead. Thank you for brightening up my Monday and hope you have a wonderful week! <3 xx
